OneOff traces its roots back to 2001, where entrepreneur Andrea Molinari had the cigars contracted to be made by the renowned Plasencia family. The cigars were made in such small batches that they were virtually one-off releases, focusing on authentic and quality-focused experiences for the enthusiast. With Illusione debuting only a few years later, company owner Dion Giolito has since claimed the original OneOff cigars were a major inspiration for the Illusione brand.
In the years following, Dion has since acquired the rights to the OneOff name, returning the cigars to their former glory, including the oddball appearance of the peace symbol on the cigar's primary band. The modern iteration is produced at the TABSA factory in Estelí, using a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos exclusively. Many of the original sizes have returned, focusing on traditional vitolas for the connoisseur.
