Warped Cigars' Serie Gran Reserva 1988 originally debuted in 2017 as a special offering from the company. The cigars were then delayed, eventually being released in 2018, coinciding with company owner Kyle Gellis' 30th birth year (1988). Like many other blends in Warped's portfolio, Serie Gran Reserva 1988 uses Nicaraguan tobaccos exclusively; the cigar differentiates itself through the selection of unique tobacco primings, harvested from lots and farms (grown on the Fernández family's renowned Aganorsa fields) not typically used in prior releases.
Serie Gran Reserva 1988 is rolled at the Fernández family's TABSA factory in Estelí, with small batches of the singular size going into production only a few times each year. As a sort of "birthday gift" to fans of the Warped brand, the cigar is priced much lower than anticipated, debuting at $9.00.
