La Barba Purple

La Barba Purple is the second release from La Barba Cigars, introduced in 2014 with an aim on Dominican tobaccos. The brand partnered with Tabacalera William Ventura and has since moved the original La Barba Red from Honduras to the Ventura factory.

In 2016, La Barba moved into the Caldwell camp, using Robert Caldwell’s Down and Back LLC to reach a larger audience. Caldwell’s own cigar brand, Caldwell Cigar Co. also utilizes the Ventura factory for the majority of its releases. With the change, La Barba introduced new packaging that uses 12-count boxes instead of 10-count and a slightly different look to help distinguish the Red from the Purple.
