Famous for its strong Cuban profile and its handsome, sideburns-wearing fella on the band—the (original) Cuban Bolívar is a staple in the Cuban cigar scene. The brand dates back to the dawn of the 20th century, named for the South American revolutionary, Simón Bolívar (aka Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar Palacios Ponte y Blanco, aka El Libertador), whom freed all or part of what is today Venezuela, Columbia, Peru and Bolivia.
Bolívar is among the strongest Cuban cigars, with a heaping helping of ligero—making for a dark and musky, bold smoking experience.
